Monroe Woman’s Club

The Monroe Woman’s Club met Oct. 15 at the Monroe City Hall with 14 members present. Roll call was answered with a Halloween joke.

The Pledge of Allegiance and Club Collect were recited by the members.

Devotions were given by Corretha Rozendaal from John 4 about the woman at the well.

The treasurer’s report was given by Kay VanRyswyk.

Sue Gildersleeve gave us upcoming events for our area. Marlene Beyer gave a report on Home Reading. She reported on the books “Seek and You Will Find” by Julie Dodson and “Prisoners of War in Iowa” by Linda Betsinger Mccann. The book club book this month is “Nineteen Minutes” by Jodi Picoult.

We discussed getting flu and covid booster shots for our health report.

The meeting was adjourned by general consent.

Refreshments were served by Liz Hormann and Sally Morris.

Our program was a sing-along lead by Karlin.

Next month’s meeting will be at 1 p.m. Nov. 19.
