Underfunding public schools

A big thanks to Representative Dunwell for sharing with us all the issues he’s worked through on the school voucher bill. He didn’t come up with any solutions or compromises, but at least he was able to “resolve” them in his mind so he can sleep better at night when he ultimately votes yes. Despite all the negative input he received from constituents (and especially educators) he offered us “resolutions” to the problems, which were nothing more than political talking points and justifications. In the meantime, this unpopular bill will be passed, we will continue to underfund our public schools and we will watch as our system of public education continues to erode here in Iowa.
