100 days of Republican leadership under President Trump

By Mariannette Miller-Meeks

This past week, we marked the 100th day since President Trump returned to office, and during that time, Republicans in the House, Senate, and the White House have worked tirelessly to restore America’s strength and security. We’ve been focused on delivering results for the American people—fighting for their safety, jobs, and freedom.

One of our earliest successes was the passage of the SAVE Act, a bill I proudly cosponsored, which ensures only U.S. citizens can vote in federal elections by requiring proof of citizenship for voter registration. This is a vital step in restoring integrity to our elections.

We also passed the Protection of Women & Girls Sports Act, commonsense legislation that prevents biological males from competing in women’s sports, ensuring a level playing field, fairness based in science and the protection of female athletes. I was proud to attend the White House ceremony where President Trump signed an Executive Order to protect women’s sports.

Under President Trump’s leadership, we’ve reversed the disastrous policies of the Biden administration, taking major steps to unleash America’s energy potential. This is crucial for our national security and economic prosperity, ensuring that we are no longer reliant on foreign energy sources and can help fuel our allies.

A key victory for Iowa came when the House passed my Critical Infrastructure Manufacturing Feasibility Act. This bill will attract high-paying jobs back to our rural communities by expanding American manufacturing and protecting our supply chains. This is a major step in reducing our dependence on China and restoring America’s manufacturing prowess.

Perhaps the most significant achievement of all has been the restoration of sovereignty and order at our southern border. After four years of chaos under the Biden administration’s open-border policies, illegal border crossings have dropped by 95% under President Trump’s leadership. Immigration laws are being enforced, and we are on track to complete the border fence with the requisite technology.

Looking ahead, it’s time to pass one big, beautiful bill to extend the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which has benefited families and small businesses in Iowa. We must ensure our economy continues to thrive and that Iowans are not burdened with higher taxes. Let’s continue the momentum and secure a prosperous future for Iowa and America.
