Timothy Allen Moon

Timothy Allen Moon, 65, of Newton, died Friday, January 2, 2026, at MercyOne Newton Medical Center. A celebration of Tim’s life will be held from 3-5 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the Newton American Legion. Memorials in Tim’s name can be left at the celebration or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton. Please make checks payable to Julie Moon.

Tim, the son of Floyd “Max” and Patricia (Stewart) Moon, was born July 30, 1960, in Sacramento, CA. The family moved to Newton early in Tim’s childhood, where he would live for the rest of his life. Tim graduated from Newton High School in 1978. Tim was united in marriage with Julie Robeson in October of 1982, in Newton. He had worked at the Maytag Dairy Farm, for Carroll Barr Construction, and at Garden Gate Landscaping, from where he recently retired. Tim was often found riding motorcycle or building something. He also enjoyed collecting coins, pheasant hunting with his dogs, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys. Most importantly though, Tim loved spending time with his family.

Tim is survived by his wife, Julie of Newton; his daughter, Alicia Moon of Newton; his grandson, Drake Cochran of Newton; and his siblings, James (Beth) Moon of Newton and Sue Swedlund of Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Moon.
