Graveside funeral services for Nancy Manuel, 73, of Melcher-Dallas, will be held at the Dallas Cemetery in Melcher-Dallas on Sunday, September 21st, at 1:00 p.m. Following the service a celebration of life will be held at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas until 3:00 p.m. Memorials may be made in care of Nancy’s family.
Nancy Beth Manuel was born July 22, 1952, in Newton, Iowa, to Elizabeth Charlene (Butler) and Bernie Manuel. Her stepfather Don Hunter was important throughout her life. She attended school in Newton and graduated from Newton High School in 1970. She went on to become a dental assistant and worked at Maytag for 23 years. She loved being a mother and homemaker. She was an excellent cook and loved to help others. Everything about Nancy was special. She loved life and was always up for an adventure. Nancy loved the outdoors and spent time camping, fishing, mushroom hunting, listening to the birds, and spending time in her flower garden.
Nancy was blessed with two children: Ben Vanden Oever and Barbie Christianson; five grandchildren: Travis, Tyler, Gabriella, Ben Jr., and Richelle; two great grandchildren: Aria and Spencer. She will be missed by siblings: Dave (Millie) Hunter, Dan (Kim) Hunter, and Eric (Jennifer) Manuel; stepmother, Harriet Manuel; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Nancy passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at her home surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gary Hunter.
