Don Paul Dafflitto

Don Paul Dafflitto died in Arlington Heights, IL surrounded by family on Thursday, May 8, 2025. Don was the son of Russell P. Dafflitto and Elizabeth A. (Sayres) Dafflitto on September 28, 1946 in Centerville, IA. Don grew up in Newton, IA and graduated from Newton High School in 1964. He went on to attend Drake University and the University of Iowa.

Don Dafflitto married Diane Rucker in Newton on July 29, 1967. Don finished out one year at the University of Iowa before moving to Dallas, Texas in the fall of 1968 where they had many adventures and two awesome children. Don was a golf pro in Dallas and he went on to follow his own path as an independent contractor. In 1978 he moved his family back to Newton.

In 1992 Don and Diane Dafflitto were divorced and Don moved to the Chicagoland area and married Christina Adams and adopted her daughter, Genevieve Adams.

Don Dafflitto was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife Christina Adams and stepdaughter Genevieve Adams, both of Barrington, IL; his children Dana (Stacy) Simbro and Dane (Mary) Dafflitto, both of Newton; his grandchildren include Tyler (Alexis) Dafflitto, Jerica Dafflitto, Elizabeth Simbro, and Sean Simbro; and his beautiful newborn great granddaughter. Don is also survived by his brothers Ray (Deb) Dafflitto of San Diego, CA and John Jay Dafflitto (Doug Eslinger) of Newton; his close friend Diane Dafflitto of Newton; and his cousins Barb Sayres and Gary Sayres both of Numa, IA.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date with family.
