Judy Ellen Ross

Judy Ellen Ross, of Colfax, Iowa, passed away on March 29, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri. A Celebration of Life in her memory will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Colfax. Following the service, there will be a brief graveside ceremony at Colfax Cemetery. The family will then host a gathering with food and fellowship at First Baptist Church, and all are welcome to attend.

Judy was born on September 26, 1945, to Norman Case and Whelma (Weimer) Case. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1963 and married Wendell Ross on September 4, 1964. Together, they had four children: Dianna, Leanna, Travis (deceased), and Aaron. Judy worked in the accounting department at the Wittern Group for over 25 years before retiring.

Judy had a deep love for many things in life. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Colfax, where she found great joy in singing as an excellent soprano. A passionate Iowa Hawkeyes fan, she especially enjoyed watching women’s softball and basketball. She loved attending the extracurricular activities of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Spending time with family was one of her greatest joys, and she particularly cherished going to tea with her sister, Janice. She also had a love for flower gardening, sewing, and cooking.

Survivors include her husband, Wendell, children Dianna (Terry) Gioffredi of West Des Moines, Iowa, Leanna Ross of Dallas Center, Iowa, and Aaron (Rhonda) Ross of Colfax, Iowa, 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, sister Janice (Ron) Wing of Colfax, Iowa, brother Greg Case of Newton, Iowa and many nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, sister Patricia Hesson, brother George Case and son, William Travis Ross.
