Chris graduated from Colfax High School in 1983. He was joined in marriage to Deanna Good, on Memorial Weekend in 1989 in Colfax.

Chris loved furbabies, especially his two cats Mary and Pretty Girl. He looked forward to mushroom hunting in the spring, and fishing in the summer. He is also survived by his four grandchildren; Emily and Jayden Steward, and Braelynn and Anna Hutson. Additionally, he is survived by his sister, Glenna (Jim) Penny of Newton, his nephew Justin (Kristal) Jenkins of Carlisle, and numerous cousins.

Chris was preceded in death by his father and mother; Norman and Margaret (Hunter) Smith, his paternal grandparents; James “Glen” and Arminda “Minnie” (Teed) Smith, and his Maternal grandparents; Isaiah and Ada (Miller) Myra. And furbabies, Ol Boy, Minnie and Oddie to name a few.
