On February 8, 2024, Pamela Kay Albee, of Round Rock, Texas, died at home with her loved ones after experiencing an amazing seven-plus years of success surviving ovarian cancer. She was 71 years old.
Pam was born at Fort Chaffee Army Base near Little Rock, Arkansas in 1952, the daughter of Arthur and Eva Margaret Ver Schuur of Newton, Iowa. She was raised in Newton, Iowa where she attended and was a cheerleader for Newton High School. She continued her studies at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico. Pam married William “Bill” G. Albee, Jr. in 1970 in Newton, Iowa and they relocated and established their life in the Austin, Texas area in 1980. They spent most of their time enjoying life together in Round Rock, Texas.
Pam most enjoyed being an amazing homemaker, devoted wife and loving mother. She owned and operated two businesses in her lifetime and worked while also proudly being a stay-at-home mom. She excelled at doing everything that she set her mind to doing. Her holiday celebrations were the best. She was a star.
Pam loved doing anything in the sun outdoors, gardening, animals and all wildlife. She never met a stranger and was still making new friends during her last days. She was always there to help anyone in need and family meant everything to her. Words can’t truly express how big and bright her light and personality were, nor how much she will be deeply missed. Always loving a good laugh, she is surely full of smiles and laughter again now… celebrating the miraculous and successful life she lived. She is greatly missed and loved and will be forever.
Pam is survived by William “Bill” G. Albee, Jr., her husband of 53 years. She is also survived by her daughter Jennie Albee & partner Daniel Wannamaker of Austin, Texas; her brother Michael Ver Schuur & wife Teresa of Round Rock, Texas; her brother Arthur “Alan” Ver Schuur & wife Amy of Hutto, Texas; and her sister-in-law Linda Breckenridge of Newton, Iowa.
