Linda Beth Koenig Martin

Linda Beth Koenig Martin, 79, passed away expectantly from a heart attack on Monday May 8, 2023, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center of Gastonia. Born in Moline, Illinois on May 22, 1943, she was the daughter of the late B. Calvin Koenig and Helen Elizabeth Lindgren Koenig. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Thomas Koenig.

Linda graduated valedictorian from Jefferson High School in Tampa, Fl and then graduated from Wheaton College in Illinois. While at Wheaton she became involved in Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru). After she graduated, she began full time ministry with Campus Crusade, serving in California, Oregon, Arizona, and Argentina. She was a devoted mother and raised her children in Newton, Iowa. There she was a member at First Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. She was a leader and a regular speaker with Christian Women’s Club throughout the Midwest. She moved to Shelby, North Carolina to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She was a member at Eastside Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and was involved in the Women’s Prayer Group. She loved her family and most importantly loved the Lord.

Linda is survived by her three children, daughter Debora Martin, son Christian Martin and his wife Melissa and their two sons Noah and Max and her son Michael Martin wife Carla and their two children Mia and Mateo.

To honor the life of Linda, a memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, May 12, 2023, at Eastside Baptist Church with Pastor Dale Byrd Officiating. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall following the memorial service.
