Beverly J. Chipps

Beverly J. Chipps, age 71 of Monroe, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at the Comfort House in Pella.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 10:30 am at the Monroe United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow at Silent City Cemetery.  The family will greet friends on Sunday March 19, 2023 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe.  Memorials may be directed to the PCM Foundation/Endowment or the Monroe United Methodist Church.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The daughter of Robert Lee and Florence Irene (Williamson) Criswell, Bev was born on January 17, 1952, in Grinnell, Iowa.  She graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1970.  On February 20, 1970, she was united in marriage to Alan Chipps at the Methodist Church in Newton.  Bev worked in the medical industry in bookkeeping, first at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Des Moines and then at various doctor’s offices.  She was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church.  She was also involved with the Jayceettes and enjoyed the ladies golf league.  Bev enjoyed gardening, her flowers and traveling with family and friends.  Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Alan; two sons, Marty (Kristen) Chipps of Ankeny IA and Mitchell (Melissa) Chipps of Monroe IA; four grandchildren, Austin (Jennifer Zoute) of Baton Rouge LA, Ethan of Davie FL, Margo and Meredith of Monroe IA ; and two sisters, Sharon (Rick) Rawlins and Marla (Nathan) Glotfelty both of Kellogg IA.  Preceding Bev in death were her parents.
