Vivian M. Sinclair

Vivian M. Sinclair, 69 years old, of Milan, Mo., passed away Monday, Oct. 11, 2021, at Sullivan County Memorial Hospital in Milan. Vivian was born Oct. 1, 1952, in Newton, to Vincent and Donna (Murray) Bauer. On June 15, 1971, she married Marion “Bubby” Hatcher and three children were born to this union. Later in life she married Ronnie Sinclair Jan. 4, 1998, he preceded her in death in 2001. Vivian was also preceded by her parents; a son, Mark Hatcher; and a daughter in infancy.

Vivian was survived by two children, Marta Sinclair of Milan and Matt Hatcher of Milan; grandchildren, Brett Sinclair, Brittany Sinclair, Brianna Sinclair (Daniel Anaya), Bryce Sinclair, Tyler Hatcher (Alyssa) and Koby Hatcher; great-grandchildren, Oliver Sinclair and Asher Anaya; a daughter-in-law, Joy Hatcher of Milan; two brothers, Vincent Larry Bauer of Newton and Randy Bauer (Rhonda) of Newton; four nieces, Lindy Fisher, Kristen Bauer, Rachel Bauer and Hope Bauer.

Vivian grew up in Newton, graduating from Newton High School in 1970. After graduating, she moved to Des Moines and attended beauty school while working nights as a switchboard operator. Vivian was invited to Milan one weekend by a fellow student at beauty school and it was during that trip she met Marion “Bubby” Hatcher whom she later married and moved to Milan where she raised her three children. Vivian then went to NCMC where she achieved an associate’s degree in criminal justice and worked with probation and parole. She also worked many years at Green Hills Community Action Agency and later in life worked as a 9-1-1 dispatcher.

Vivian was a devout Christian who enjoyed listening to music, talking on the phone and spending time with her friends and family.

A funeral service for Vivian will begin at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16 at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Milan. A visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
