Pat M. Hennon, formerly of Newton, passed from this life Saturday evening, May 29, 2021, at her home in Lakeland, Fla.
Patricia Mae Hennon, 87, was born Jan. 16, 1934, in Newton, daughter of Boyce Elwood and Eula Vivian (Sutton) Carpenter. She graduated from the Newton Senior High, Class of 1952.
On Feb. 10, 1956, Pat was united in marriage with Mannie R. Hennon in Des Moines. She was employed as a word processor/compilator for a phone directory company. Pat was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She had lived in Iowa, Michigan and Minnesota, and enjoyed life having been Born Again and a member of the Body of Christ.
Pat is survived by her son, Rodney Lee Hennon; her two daughters, Lisa Mae Hennon, (Lisa’s partner Michael), and DesaRee Mae (Tom) Davis; her five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her sister, Barb Wisgerhof; and her many good neighbors and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mannie on Nov. 10, 2013; a sister, Norma Case; a brother, Robert Elwood Carpenter; and a brother-in-law, Ken Wisgerhof.
A time of remembrance and celebration of life will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 10 at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton, with a visitation an hour prior to the services. Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, facemasks are optional, but encouraged at the services.
Burial will be in the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to her family, in honor of Pat.
