Judith Darlene Borts, 83, of Colfax, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Newton Health Care. Reflection and observance of Judy with her family will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 13 at the Howard Street Christian Church gymnasium in Colfax. Condolences may be left at coburnfuneralhomes.com.
The daughter of Clarence N. and Mabel Darlene (McAtee) Drew, Judy was born Sept. 13, 1937, in Newton. She graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1956. She was united in marriage to Henry L. “Bud” Borts. Judy was a lover of books, word finds, various types of music and loved to dance. Spending time with family at gatherings and especially her sister-in-laws. Quick with wit and a great sense of humor. A little sassy, a bit brassy and smart assy. “Speak her name, continue to share memories and my mom won’t truly be gone.” SJS.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Robert Glen Barnard, Thomas Lawrence Borts, Tammy Ann (Jason) Breckenridge and Sara Jean (Philip) Squire; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild; and her brother, David Clarence (Pat) Drew. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband in 1997; a granddaughter in 1991; a sister, Janet Salyers; and a brother, James H. Drew.
