Holiday Photo Booth

Nov. 17 – Dec. 31

Drop-in during any of our open hours Nov. 17 - Dec. 31 and take photos in our pop-up Holiday Photo Booth! You bring a camera; we’ll provide the set. No registration required.

Holiday Toy Swap

Monday, Dec. 8, 5 – 6 p.m.

Trade in your gently used children’s toys and pick out some new-to-you gifts, just in time for the holidays! Drop off the toys your child has outgrown at the library Dec. 1 - 6 and receive a ticket for each donated toy (maximum of 10 tickets). Bring back your tickets on Dec. 8, to attend the swap and pick out some new toys to take home! Donated toys should be clean and in good condition. We cannot accept stuffed animals or fabric toys. Photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus

Thursday, Dec. 11, 5 – 7 p.m.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the Library on Dec. 11 to take pictures with children in the library’s photo drop setup. Stop by anytime between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus and take your own pictures with your own phone or camera.

Library Late Opening

Friday, Dec. 12

The Newton Public Library will be closed the morning of Dec. 12, for a staff event. The library will open to the public at 1 p.m.

Library Closed for Christmas

The Newton Public Library will be closed Dec. 24 – 27, in observance of Christmas. The library will resume regular hours on Monday, Dec. 29.

2026 Tiny Art Show & Silent Auction

Canvas pick-up begins Dec. 15

Display your artistic talents and support the library at our Tiny Art Show & Fundraiser Silent Auction! Pick up a 4″x4″ canvas at the library with a $1 deposit, and create a mini masterpiece at home. Return your completed canvas no later than Feb. 9 to have your deposit returned and be included in our Tiny Art Show & Fundraiser Silent Auction. Art will be on display inside the library Feb. 12 - 26. All submitted art will be included in our Fundraiser Silent Auction on Feb. 26, with proceeds going towards funding library projects and programs for all ages. Submissions should be family-friendly. All ages and abilities are welcome to participate!

Library New Year’s Closures

The Newton Public Library will close at 3 p.m. on Dec. 31 and remain closed on Jan. 1, in observance of the New Year’s holiday. Regular hours will resume on Friday, Jan. 2.
