The Newton FFA members look forward to the week of the fair, so they can show off the projects they have worked hard completing. Here are some of the highlights of the week:
On Friday, members kicked off the fair at the horse show. Congratulations to Madi Altemeier, Cadie Horn, Addison Ross, Aliviah Ross, and Alyssa Turner on the awesome performances in the arena.
On Sunday, after chapter members were settled in, some joined in and helped shuck sweet corn with Damman Seed for the free supper. The FFA chapter was happy to give back to the fair that has helped raise us.
On Monday, many of the members got to show off their stuff in the ring, at the sheep show. Newton FFA had many class winners, and many made final drives. Congrats to Madi Altemeier, Gaby Layton, Jase Layton, and Ella Machin on showcasing their lamb projects. After the Sheep Show, it was time for the FFA’ s goat exhibitor to display their project. Congrats to Sadie Booth, Meghan Bright, Mackenzie Cupples, Carter Lehrman, Addison Ross, and Aliviah Ross on your success in the class and showmanship.
On Tuesday, the day started at the pig barn where Meghan Bright, Clayden Clymer, and Mackenzie Cupples had successful winning drives, showmanship, and placing in almost every class they participated in. Congrats on showcasing your swine projects. After the swine show, it was time for the dairy show where Grace Guy, Alyssa Machin, and Andrew Machin got to showcase their cattle. Congrats to them on winning many classes and showmanship.
On Wednesday, FFA members finished the animal showing part of the fair at the rabbit show. Where the exhibitors placed well in classes and showmanship. Congrats to Mackenzie Cupples, Blanca Gutierrez, Bristol Keith, Haley Lambertus - Altemeier.
On Thursday, Newton FFA had two members participate in the awesome experience doing the Brice Leonard Supreme Showmanship Contest. Mackenzie Cupples and Grace Guy won Senior Showmanship in their respective species. The pair got to sho=each species that had a showmanship winner. Congratulations to Grace for getting Reserve Supreme showmanship.
The Newton FFA would like to congratulate everyone at the fair. And thank you to the Fair Board and everyone who helped the fair run smoothly during the week.
