Official launch of Newton Rail Park

Join Jasper County and Iowa Interstate Railroad (IAIS) at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 30 in the Jasper County Courthouse Rotunda for a milestone event announcing the creation of Newton Rail Park, a 367-acre industrial development designed to power the next generation of biofuels, advanced manufacturing and rail-enabled logistics.

This novel public–private partnership represents a joint investment of more than $10 million in property acquisition and infrastructure planning. Together, Jasper County and IAIS are setting a state-wide precedent for how local governments and freight railroads can collaborate to accelerate economic development, sustainability and industrial competitiveness in the Midwest.
