Newton Municipal Band to present third concert of the season

The Newton Municipal Band will take the stage at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 26 at the bowl in Maytag Park. Under the direction of Dan Stecker, the band is very proud to be among the first to present “A Mere Moment: Bolero in Remembrance.“ This piece, written by Michele Fernandez, was commissioned to honor the memory of those who lost their lives in the Perry school shooting. The band thanks Mr. Stecker for his work in the commissioning process.

For another evening highlight, the band’s trumpet section will play an all-time favorite among players and listeners alike, “Bugler’s Holiday.” With MC Fred Chabot at the mic, it promises to be a great evening of music. Bring lawn chairs, blankets, friends and neighbors to enjoy the concert in Newton’s wonderful outdoor venue.
