Kirkwood Community College

CEDAR RAPIDS — Kirkwood Community College has released its Dean’s List for the spring 2025 semester which included Keily Turcios of Newton and Colton Vos of Sully. These students have achieved a 3.3 grade point average or higher after completing 12 or more credit hours at the college.

Area students graduating from Kirkwood include: Jase McDonald of Colfax, Certificate; Zane Biondi of Newton, Associate of Applied Science; and Colton Vos of Sully, Associate of Applied Science.

Loras College

DUBUQUE — Rory Heer of Mingo, achieved the dean’s list status for the 2025 spring semester at Loras College.

Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences

WEST DES MOINES — More than 400 new health professionals graduated on May 30 with degrees from Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences at the university’s 125th Commencement Ceremony: Jaxon Franken of Collins, completed a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree; Katherine Marie Hadsall of Newton, completed a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery degree and will begin a residency in podiatric medicine at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center; Sarah Galbraith of Maxwell, completed a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree and will begin a residency in emergency medicine at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha; and Sarah Marie Jaschen of Runnells, completed a Master of Health Care Administration degree.

Northwestern College

ORANGE CITY — Presley Arnold of Newton, Kallie Van Kley, also of Newton, and Mikayla McKnight of Baxter, earned a spot on the academic dean’s list for the spring 2025 semester at Northwestern College in Orange City. Van Kley, a 2025 graduate majoring in biology-health professions, is considered a Collegiate Scholar. McKnight graduated Magna Cum Laude with a major in early childhood.

Mercy College of Health Sciences

The following students have received academic honors for the spring 2025 quarter and semester terms at Mercy College of Health Sciences in Des Moines: Khryssa Anderson of Kellogg, President’s List; Brynn Cazett of Newton, President’s List; Kristlyn Johnson of Newton, President’s List; Kyle Letendre of Newton, Dean’s List; Liliana Rausch of Newton, President’s List; Rhiannon Nichol of Prairie City, President’s List. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must attain a grade point average between 3.50 and 3.749 and to qualify for the President’s List, Mercy College students must attain a minimum grade point average of 3.75.

Hastings College

HASTINGS, Neb. – Caleb Duinink of Monroe, graduated Magna Cum Laude with High Distinction in Criminology at Hastings College. He earned a 4.0 grade point average at Hastings College. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.7 to 4.0 scale and be registered for full-time coursework.

Central College Students Named to Dean’s List

PELLA — Central College recognizes students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement by naming them to the Dean’s List, for those who have earned a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher while completing a minimum of 12 graded credit hours. Those students include: Estella Allen of Newton, Kaitlyn Bloom of Newton, Amelia Brown of Prairie City, Jillian Fairbanks of Otley, Noah Johnson of Sully, Laci Keen of Sully, Cody Klein of Newton, Parker Lawrence of Maxwell, Jaycee Shaver of Newton, Alexander Thomason of Newton, Carley Underwood of Mitchellville, Rylie Van Wyk of Mitchellville, Alexander Ver Heul of Monroe, Christopher Ver Heul of Monroe and Brooke Watson of Newton.

Buena Vista University

STORM LAKE — Buena Vista University announced more than 400 students who graduated in Spring 2025. Local students who graduated include: Nyankir Kooni of Newton, graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and human services; and Nathan Tjernagel of Newton, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in business (management track).

Graceland University

LAMONI — The honor roll lists for Graceland University’s 2025 spring term include Cameron Sharp of Newton and Joseph Sharp of Newton. Students with a GPA between 3.25 and 3.64 are named to the Dean’s List.

University of Dubuque

DUBUQUE — The University of Dubuque announces the following students have been appointed to the Spring Semester 2025 Academic Dean’s List: Zachary Backus of Baxter and Catherine Humpal of Monroe. Full-time students in good academic standing who earn a term grade point average of 3.5 or above are named to the Dean’s List.

Cedarville University

CEDARVILLE, OH — Alexis Farver of Newton, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from Cedarville University. He was also named to the Dean’s Honor List at Cedarville University for Spring 2025. This recognition requires the student to obtain a 3.75 grade point average or higher for the semester and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Buena Vista University

STORM LAKE — Buena Vista University announced more than 545 students who were named to the Spring 2025 Dean’s List. The Dean’s List recognizes full-time students achieving a 3.5-grade point average or higher for the semester and includes: Nyankir Kooni of Newton, Lilliana Mejia of Monroe, Avery Otto of Kellogg, Majesta Vos of Reasnor and Lazarus Winklepleck of Colfax.

Morningside University

SIOUX CITY — Morningside University recognizes the achievements of its May 2025 graduates, awarding general honors based on outstanding academic performance in undergraduate coursework. Bess Telfer of Prairie City graduated cum laude with a BA.

Libbie Keith of Newton, was named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester of the 2024-25 academic year. The Dean’s List recognizes Morningside students who achieve a 3.67-grade point average or better.
