The start of the summer season at Maytag Pool is being pushed back by one day, from Saturday, May 31 to Sunday, June 1.

Unseasonably cool weather and low water temperatures have made it difficult to complete new certification training for lifeguards.

Postponing the opening gives lifeguards time to finish their required certifications and ensures a safe, fully staffed pool for the community.
