Library Closed for Thanksgiving

The Newton Public Library will be closed Nov. 22 – 26 for Thanksgiving. Regular library hours will resume on Monday, Nov. 27.

Holiday Selfie Station

Dec. 1 – 28

Drop-in during any of our open hours Dec. 1 - 28 and take photos in our pop-up Holiday selfie station. You bring yourself and a camera, we’ll provide the set! The selfie station is free to use and open to the public. No registration required.

Holiday Movie Melee!

Game Brackets Due Dec. 4

Fight for your favorite festive films with our Holiday Movie Melee game! Pick up a March Madness style bracket at the library and fill it out with your winning movie predictions. Turn in your completed bracket by Monday, Dec. 4 then vote for your favorite movies each day on our Facebook page. The top three brackets with the most earned points will win a holiday gift bag! All ages are welcome to play along.

Gory Stories Book Club

Tuesday, Dec. 5, noon

Do you love true crime? Join our monthly Gory Stories Book Club! Bring your lunch and join other true crime addicts to discuss a new book each month and share our favorite books, podcasts, & documentaries! Copies of the book can be picked up at the library information desk. The December book selection is “Scoundrel” by Sarah Weinman.

Just for Job-Seekers

Dec. 6 & 13, By Appointment

Work on your resume, edit your cover letter, or complete an online application during our job-seeker support hours. Appointments are required to ensure that staff schedule enough time to address your unique job search needs. B.Y.O.B Book Club

Join our new afternoon book club for adults! Choose your own book to read, based on our monthly theme, and share what you read at the meeting. It’s like a potluck for books! The December theme is “Self Help.”
