Veterans in Crisis — Training for the First Responder Community

Instructor Lori Reynolds, LISW-Community Engagement and Partnership Coordinator for Suicide Prevention for VA-CIHCS, will be offering training for first responders from 10 a.m. to noon March 22 in the large conference room across the hall from the DHS office at 315 W. Third St. N. in Newton.

Objectives of the training will be: 1. Veteran Demographics, Transition/Adjustment Considerations

2. Learn how post-deployment and other veteran-related issues may impact or influence approach of first responder on a call.

3. Review warning signs of suicide and strategies for prevention for veterans and first responders.

4. Resources VA and Non-VA

This training is hosted by Jasper County Veterans Affairs.
