Tiny Art Show & Auction

Canvas pick-up begins: Jan. 3 (while supplies last!)

Tiny Art Show: Feb. 20 – 27

Tiny Art Silent Auction: Feb. 27, 5 – 7 p.m.

Display your artistic talents and support the library at our Tiny Art Show & Fundraiser Silent Auction! Pick up a 4″x4″ canvas at the library with a $1 deposit, and create a mini masterpiece at home. Return your completed canvas no later than Feb. 15 to have your deposit returned and be included in our Tiny Art Show & Fundraiser Silent Auction. Art will be on display inside the library Feb. 20 - 27. All submitted art will be included in our Fundraiser Silent Auction on Feb. 27, with proceeds going towards funding a new library roof. Submissions should be family-friendly. All ages and abilities are welcome to participate!

February Mystery Bag

Wondering what to read next? Check out our FREE monthly mystery bags for adults! Mystery bags have a different theme every month and contain a surprise selection of 4-5 books and an adult craft. Return the books when you’re done with them - keep the craft! The February theme is “Isn’t it Romantic?” and includes a selection of novels about love and romance. The craft is a fabric Valentine wreath. Registration opens Jan. 23. Direct message the library on Facebook or call 641-792-4108 to register. Ages 18+.

Valentine Pet Photo Booth Feb. 3 & 4

Visit our Valentine’s Day photo booth with your furry loved ones! Bring your pet and your own camera or phone and take photos in our decorated photo booth. Library staff will be present to help take photos. Pets must be leashed or otherwise contained and house-trained. Pets must be accompanied by an adult, but the whole family is welcome to attend! This program is free to attend but donations towards the roof replacement fund are appreciated! Registration is required to reserve your private photography time slot. Registration opens Jan. 26. Gory Stories Book Club

Feb. 6, noon

Do you love true crime? Bring your lunch and join other true crime addicts to share our favorite podcasts, documentaries, books, and more! The February book selection is, “Small Sacrifices” by Ann Rule. Copies of the book can be picked up at the library information desk.

Introvert Book Club

Want to join a book club but just don’t have the time for a regular meeting? This is the book club for you! Each month there’s a new book selection, but there’s never a meeting. Pick up your copy of the book of the month at the library information desk. The February selection is “The Bookshop of Yesterdays” by Amy Meyerson.

Blues Under the Blue Roof Monday, Feb. 13, 5 p.m.

Join musician, Matt Woods for a live blues music concert at the library! This event is free to attend and will be held inside the library meeting room. Music lovers of all ages are welcome to attend. This program is sponsored by the Arts Connection, South Skunk Blues Society, and the Newton Public Library Foundation.
