Meet your 2022 NHS Homecoming court

Community invited to watch parade and participate in downtown pep rally Sept. 15

Newton High School announced on Sept. 9 that eight guys and eight gals were voted in to the Homecoming court this year, which means in one week the community and school district will welcome their new royal pair as they parade through town in their crowns and wave spectators.

The 2022 NHS Homecoming king candidates are: Brody Bauer, Collin Buchli, Carson Satterfield, Kacey Sommers, Alex Thomason, Drew Thompson, Tade Vanderlaan and Turner Williams.

The 2022 NHS Homecoming queen candidates are: Kaitlyn Bloom, Kate Muckler, Marin Pettigrew, Ella Price, Audrey Rausch, Lillie Ray, Haley Sevenbergen and Addisyn Terpstra.

Homecoming king and queen will be crowned during a coronation ceremony on Sept. 15 during an assembly at the high school gymnasium.

Later that same day at 6 p.m. the king and queen and the rest the Homecoming court candidates will be smiling and waving in the parade from the high school to downtown Newton. The pep assembly will be held on the west side of the courthouse. A dodge ball tournament will begin 7:15 p.m. at the upper gym.
