Academic Achievement

Central College

PELLA — Central College celebrated the 216 students who graduated during Commencement May 14 including: Sabrina Tallman of Otley, degree in Art and minor in Mathematics.

Area students named to Central College dean’s list for spring 2022 include: Amelia Brown of Prairie City and Logan Sunvold of Monroe. The honor is awarded to full-time students who achieve a 3.5 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale while taking 12 or more graded credit hours for the semester.

Mercy College of Health Sciences

DES MOINES — Anna Shaver of Prairie City has been named to the president’s list for the spring 2022 semester at Mercy College of Health Sciences in Des Moines. To qualify for the president’s list, students must attain a grade point average of at least 3.75, in their most recent semester, for a minimum of six credit hours.

Degrees were conferred on the following students by Mercy College of Health Sciences April 29 included Kelsey Fiorentin of Prairie City, Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Buena Vista University

STORM LAKE — Students named to Buena Vista University’s dean for the spring semester include Kristina Cimaglia of Monroe.

Local student Morgan Donovan of Prairie City graduated with a Master of Science in Education in professional school counseling from Buena Vista University in the spring of 2022.

Monmouth College

MONMOUTH, IL — Erica Bossard of Otley, has graduated with an elementary education major from Monmouth College.

Graceland University

LAMONI — Joseph Kacmarynski of Prairie City, graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor of arts (elementary education) from the spring semester at Graceland University.

Northwest Missouri State University

MARYVILLE, MO — The Office of the Registrar and the Graduate School at Northwest Missouri State University have released the names of students who completed requirements for degrees at the conclusion of the 2022 spring semester. Connor Warrick of Prairie City received a master of science in Applied Health/Sport Sciences.

Iowa State University

AMES — Approximately 9,500 Iowa State University students have been recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the spring semester 2022 dean’s list. Students named to the dean’s list must have earned a grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work.
