Winter Reading Program

Jan. 1 – Feb. 28

Beat the cold-weather blues by curling up with a good book. Readers of all ages are invited to participate in our new winter reading program. Visit the library to pick up a reading log, then log the books you borrow from the library throughout January and February to earn entries into prize drawings for kids, teens and adults. Prizes include brag tags, movie tickets, tote bags, coffee, and a new Kindle.

Baby Storytime

Mondays, 10 a.m.

Baby storytime is back on Monday mornings. This special storytime is for newborns up to 18 months with their caregiver. The storytime lasts about 15 minutes and consists of a couple short books, songs, and bubble playtime. Siblings are welcome to attend. No registration required.

Just for Job-Seekers

Wednesdays, 2 – 5 p.m.

Work on your resume, edit your cover letter or complete an online application during our job-seeker support hours. Contact public services librarian Becca Klein at 641-792-4108 to schedule your appointment.

Readers Rendezvous Book Club

January 19, 1 p.m.

Get a jump start on your 2022 reading goal with our new adult book club. This book club will read popular titles in a variety of genres and is sure to have something for every reader. Copies of the monthly title can be picked up at the library information desk. New members are always welcome. Attendees are welcome to bring their lunch to the meeting. The January pick is “Circe” by Madeline Miller.

February Mystery Bag

Wondering what to read next? Check out our monthly mystery bags for adults. Mystery bags have a new theme every month and contain a surprise selection of 4-5 books and an adult craft. Return the books when you’re done with them; keep the craft. The February theme is “Noteworthy Nonfiction”. The February bags will include a selection of our favorite nonfiction titles and authors and a wide variety of books about nature, history, the arts, and more! The craft is a mini painted winter birdhouse. Registration opens Jan. 24. Call the library at 641-792-4108 to register.
