Carol Adene Teed

Carol Adene Teed (Brandon), age 92, of Newton, Iowa (formerly Colfax), passed away on December 12, 2023. A visitation in Carol’s memory will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax, Iowa. A funeral service will be held directly after, starting at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow the funeral and will take place at Ashton Cemetery in Mingo, Iowa. Following the burial, the family would like to invite everyone to the Hope Assembly of God church in Colfax for a time of food and fellowship. The daughter of Ede Brandon and Irene Brandon (Long), Carol was born on December 15, 1930 in southern Iowa. She graduated from Wayne of Corydon High School in 1949. After high school, Carol worked for the Hallmark Brothers in Kansas City, Missouri as a ribbon cutter. On June 10, 1955, she was united in marriage to Gail Teed in Long Beach, California. After marriage, Carol took care of all things home and family related.

In her spare time, Carol loved crafts. She loved God and tried to read her Bible daily. She was always active, enjoying going for walks. Reading was another favorite hobby of Carols. Carol’s children said she made the best apple crisp. It was so good that nobody has been able to duplicate it. Above all things, she loved spending time with her family. She spent countless hours with her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and the great-great-grandkids.

Those left to honor Carol’s memory include her children; Kim Teed, Clifford Teed, Carolyn (Michael) Schreck, and Debbie (Daniel) Byrd, her grandkids; Leslie (Jason) Coulson, Kurtis (Rachel) Main, Destiny (Reid) Umbarger, Nicole (Ryan Sibinksi) Byrd, and Josh (Georgia) Byrd, 20 great-grandkids, 2 great-greatgrandkids with 1 more on the way, many nieces and nephews, and her siblings; Jean Head-Collins, and Dean (Betty) Brandon.

Preceding Carol in death was her husband; Gail, a son; Rodney Teed, as well as both parents, Ede and Irene.
