Norman Charles Leonard of Georgetown, Texas, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021. He was born Jan. 23, 1938, to Ralph Leonard and Clara (Dykstra) Leonard at Grandma’s (Annie Emmaline Leonard’s home) in Colfax. He is survived by two sons, Gregory of Afton, Okla., and Jeffrey of Stillwater, Okla.; an older brother, Joseph Robert (Bob) Leonard of Mingo; and a sister, Jane Leonard Fischer from Bloomington, Minn. He had four grandkids and three great-grandkids in Oklahoma; plus many nieces and nephews.

He grew up on the farm north of Mingo and graduated from Farrar High School. He held jobs in Des Moines, Sigourney, Holdenville, Okla., and Georgetown, Texas. He worked at Summy Building Systems as plant manager and Western Auto Distribution Center as a mechanic in the truck stop in Texas.

He suffered a massive stroke Saturday morning, June 26, 2021, after going for his morning walk. The ambulance was called about 8 a.m. and he passed away Sunday evening at 6:15 p.m. Funeral arrangements have been made for Saturday, July 17 at the Mingo United Methodist Church with burial at the Ashton Cemetery, north of Mingo.
