Correspondence was received from Paul D. Pate, Iowa Secretary of State, asking us to file the biennial report for Colfax Historical Society, Inc. by March 31. The report was filled in and mailed back to them March 20.

Joyce and Don will resume again painting Karlyne’s building white when the weather permits this spring.

Linda’s rental report was given to everyone to see.

The committee of Peggy, Larry D., Linda and Karen will meet to discuss our prices, etc. and possible changes to our rental contract. It was decided a Saturday would work best.

The new security camera system will be installed soon by Kevin and other volunteers.

Kevin has LED lights to replace the light fixtures that are not functioning in the north cabinets.

Shawn will contact the IDOT about the size requirements for placing a sign on the Cogley land along I-80, advertising Colfax Historical Society Community Center and Museum. The committee of Don, Aaron, Kevin and Cindy are to report on ideas for a sign.

The eaves trough on the northwest side of our building is sagging. Doug and Shawn will fix it.

Karen will be checking on the price of a new welcome mat.

A big thank you to the following: Don and Joyce Jessen for checking on water pipes, batteries for smoke detectors and thermostat settings, thank you to Judy Sullivan for being our secretary for four months and thank you to Joe Robson for bringing his boom truck in and fixing the flagpole.

We will be open the second Saturday of the month on May 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The volunteers will be Judy and Cindy L. from 10 a.m. to noon and from noon to 2 p.m. will be Don and Joyce.  Admission is free.

We will be open from 2 to 4 p.m. Sundays starting June 6 and continue until before Labor Day. We do need more volunteers to help out.
