COLFAX — Cole Bracewell scored 18 points and Jake Nichols tallied a double-double but Colfax-Mingo’s boys’ basketball team fell short of its first win during a 46-44 loss to BGM on Dec. 8 during SICL action.
The Tigerhawks (0-4, 0-4) led by three after one quarter, trailed by one at halftime and BGM (1-2, 1-2) went up five after three quarters after a 10-6 surplus in the third.
Colfax-Mingo outscored BGM 13-10 in the fourth.
Nichols had 12 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Tigerhawks. Bracewell grabbed six boards and swiped three steals to go with his 18 points.
Zach Steenhoek chipped in 10 points, four rebounds, five assists and two steals, Colton Lind grabbed three boards and dished out three assists and Joe Earles pulled down four rebounds.
The Tigerhawks shot 37 percent from the floor, hit 3-of-17 from 3-point range and committed 23 turnovers.

NEW SHARON — Colfax-Mingo fell behind 15-0 after one quarter and couldn’t recover during a 65-36 loss to North Mahaska on Dec. 11.
Nichols had 13 rebounds and scored five points, but the Tigerhawks couldn’t overcome their slow start.
They trailed 35-10 at halftime and were outscored 22-4 in the third. C-M won the fourth quarter 22-5.
A.J. Gibson had eight points and three rebounds, Steenhoek tallied eight points and two steals and Bracewell chipped in five points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Earles tallied five points and four rebounds, Cael Bracewell scored five points and Carter Gibson grabbed five boards.
