Patricia Juanita Baker, 86, of West Grove, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020 at MercyOne Centerville Medical Center due to COVID-19. She was born on June 30, 1934 in Mystic to Albert and Mary Phillips Faris. Albert died two years later and Mary then married John Charles.
Pat was married to Duane Raridon from 1953 to 1974. She was happily married to Wallace “Buzz” Baker in 1984 until he passed in 2013.
Pat’s humble house in rural West Grove is filled with the things she loved. One wall has all of the heart shaped candy boxes that Buzz gave her over the years. Pictures of family are everywhere. One bookshelf is full of romance novels and her puzzle table has a half-finished Christmas puzzle. Every shelf, every table, every wall has cute little knickknacks that you know she had only because they made her smile. We will all miss her warm hugs and her loving heart.
She is survived by three children, Rick Raridon of Newton, Wendy (Mark) Vorel of Denver, Colo., Sharon Ruby of Altoona; seven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren who she loved and kept every picture and card they sent; two sisters, Mary Golick of Blue Springs, Mo., Margaret Leonard of West Grove, (Margaret and Pat were two peas in a pod and lived next to each other for more than 15 years); and a brother, Raymond (Jane) Charles of Tehachapi, Calif.
Graveside services with burial of her cremated remains will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22 at the West Grove Cemetery in West Grove. No visitation is planned. Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield is assisting the family and online condolences may be directed to www.waglerfuneralhome.com.
