Working for the people he represents

I have known Wes Breckenridge for many years, since he was a young man interested in beginning a law enforcement career and as a police officer with the City of Newton. The same qualities I observed in him as a young officer beginning his career, have remained constant throughout his years in law enforcement, working in progressively more responsible positions and ranks and have continued during his transition into the political arena.

He is and always has been honest, dedicated, consistent, forward-thinking and at his best when he is working with people who need help or assistance in some capacity. As an Officer and Lieutenant, he always displayed genuine empathy towards victims and their families. As a member of the Iowa Statehouse, he has continued to display these qualities, working consistently for the people he represents and not for his personal good or any particular party line.

Wes is approachable and seeks to resolve situations through communication and cooperation. When personally criticized on social media, I have seen him respond by suggesting the parties involved sit down and try to resolve the difference at hand. I suspect he utilizes similar tactics when the legislature is ‘n session, something that is really needed at this time.

Please join me in voting for Wes Breckenridge to the Iowa House of Representatives, District 29.

Leland Groves

Newton Police Lieutenant (retired)
