NCEA backs Breckenridge

I am the president of the Newton Community Education Association. We are the union that represents the teachers of the district. I am pleased to announce our endorsement of Wes Breckenridge for the Iowa House.

We have worked with Wes in our schools. He was an outstanding school resource officer and learned a lot about schools and the challenges we face each day. He has used this experience to be a tireless supporter of Public schools. He is a strong advocate for public education. He has the best interests of our students, their safety and their learning at the forefront.

We have seen Wes support the mental health of our students and families. One of his priorities is to advocate for funding for mental health initiatives across Jasper County. As we navigate our way through our new normal of this year, the mental health of our students and their families is more important than ever. Wes is an understanding leader and advocate for these needs.

We have interacted with Wes, we have seen him as an officer and as a legislator, we have educated his kids, we have worked with him at DMACC as an adjunct faculty member, we have seen his common sense approach to divisive issues. He is a willing listener, a quick learner and a good voice for education in particular and Jasper County in general. He has a proven track record and will continue to work for the good of all of us. Wes is always available to the people of Jasper County. He is only a phone call, text or message away. If he doesn’t know an answer, he will find out and get back to you.

We encourage everyone to vote and to support Wes Breckenridge for Iowa House.
