Breckenridge has forgotten about family values

When I was Mayor of Monroe, Wes Breckenridge filled in as our interim police chief during a time of need. He did a great job helping update our policies and organize our department to make it a more professional organization. For those efforts, I am greatly appreciative to him. However, I cannot say the same about his tenure as a state representative.

Since getting elected to the legislature, Representative Breckenridge seems to have forgotten about his “strong family values” that he so proudly proclaims to possess in his campaign ads and his votes scream this loud and clear. To name a few; he has voted AGAINST a bill that ensures free speech on campus at Iowa’s public universities and community colleges, voted AGAINST prohibiting government officials from revoking Iowans’ right to bear arms during a state of public emergency, voted AGAINST adding language guaranteeing the right to bear arms to the Iowa constitution, voted AGAINST prohibiting sanctuary cities in Iowa, voted FOR guaranteeing free healthcare to all Iowans including non-citizens, voted AGAINST prohibiting the sale of fetal body parts and a ban on most abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected, voted AGAINST requiring voter ID and voted AGAINST voter ID for absentee voting.

These votes don’t represent Iowa or Jasper County values to me. If they don’t represent your values either, I encourage you to vote for Iowa House District 29 candidate, Jon Dunwell. Jon and I are friends and I know he is an individual who will stand strong FOR free speech for all, Second Amendment rights, human life, voting integrity and AGAINST the encouragement of illegal activities.

If you are looking for a representative who shares your values and won’t forget about them or you when he goes to the capital, I ask you to cast your vote for Jon Dunwell.
