Baxter volleyball sweeps Madrid

MADRID — Baxter's volleyball team swept Madrid on Monday night at the annual Madrid tournament. Teams were limited to one match this season.

Baxter is now 3-5 on the season after a 25-12, 25-12, 25-14 victory.

Senior Sophie Meyer led the Bolts with nine kills, nine digs and six aces, junior Allison Colyn tallied 18 assists, five digs and six aces and sophomore Mandee Selover had five blocks and three digs.

Senior Maddie Pierce contributed four digs and four aces, senior Hallee Rainsbarger put down four kills and junior Maggie Schabilion collected three kills and five digs.

Freshman Julie Damman chipped in three kills and two aces.

Baxter's next two matches are Iowa Star Conference South Division matchups. The Bolts play Colo-NESCO at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday in Colo and host Collins-Maxwell at 7 p.m. on Thursday in Baxter.
