US Bank, headquartered in Minneapolis, Minn. with a branch office in Newton, awarded the Destination Downtown Newton Alliance (DDNA) with a Community Support grant of $1,500. Community Support grants are offered annually to non-profit organizations within US Bank branch locations that offer programs, events and opportunities to their respective constituents.
The mission of DDNA is to advance the vibrancy, vitality and prosperity of the downtown Newton district. The alliance is comprised of retailers, restaurants and service businesses that focus on community celebrations, family-friendly programming, business promotions and signature events. Due to the effects of COVID-19 and resulting business closures this past Spring, DDNA members have focused on ways to promote their online presence and additional services including shipping, delivery and curbside pick up options.
“Thanks to the US Bank grant, DDNA is enhancing their Facebook presence to promote upcoming holiday events and participating in KCCI advertisements to expand their reach all across Central Iowa. It’s important for consumers both near and far to know that we will accommodate them this holiday season. Shipping, delivery and curbside pickup allow all of our customers to continue to participate in promotions, whether that be in person or through online browsing and shopping.”
Destination Downtown Newton currently includes more than 20 member establishments and has an interactive Facebook site - @DestinationDowntownNewton.
