Much earlier than in years before, the 2020 Colfax-Mingo Homecoming will be celebrated Friday at the high school. The Homecoming Court was selected the first week of school and activities for the annual event took place throughout the week.
On the court are freshman Mickayla Lind and Cael Bracewell, sophomores Abi Rawlins and Carter Gibson and juniors Morgan Van Dyke, Katie Schlosser, Grant Alexander and Tanner Gorman. Representing the senior class are Brennan Rhone, Emma Dunsbergen, Shelby Purdie, Kira Warrick, Morgan Beener, Colton Hernandez, AJ Gibson, Jayden Horrach and Jake Nichols.
Coronation for the king and queen will be at 7 p.m. Thursday.
“It will be on the football field and masks are recommended,” student council advisor Laurie McGhee said.
The following day, the Tigerhawk football team will take on the North Mahaska Warhawks in a South Iowa Cedar League matchup. The court members will ride around the track and be announced at 6:30 p.m. with the game starting at 7 p.m.
Friday will also be senior night for those involved in fall activities. The senior members will be recognized during halftime.
