Colfax-Mingo splits with HLV

COLFAX — Sophomore Kylie Doty hit a three-run homer and got the win in the circle during Colfax-Mingo's softball team's 8-2 home win over HLV during South Iowa Cedar League play on Friday night.

Doty's home run came in the first inning. The Tigerhawks led 6-2 after five innings.

Colfax-Mingo improved to 7-1 overall and 6-0 in the SICL. HLV fell to 2-5 overall and 1-5 in the conference.

BASEBALL

HLV 2, Colfax-Mingo 1

VICTOR — HLV remained unbeaten on the season with a 2-1 home win over Colfax-Mingo on Friday night.

The Warriors are now 6-0 overall and 6-0 in conference play. Colfax-Mingo dropped to 4-4 overall and 3-2 in the SICL.

Statistics for both Colfax-Mingo teams were not available at press time. The Tigerhawks play Lynnville-Sully on Monday.

Colfax-Mingo's softball team plays L-S at 6 p.m. on Monday in Sully. Colfax-Mingo's baseball team hosts L-S at 6 p.m. in Colfax.
