City of Newton offices closed July 3 for Independence Day

In observance of Independence Day, City offices and buildings will be closed on Friday, July 3 including City Hall, the Public Works building and the Public Works, Community Development and Community Services offices, Newton Police Department and Newton Fire Department business offices and the Newton Public Library will be closed on Friday and Saturday.

The Newton Sanitary Landfill will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Friday and closed July 4.

The City of Newton Fourth of July Fireworks Display will take place at dusk on Saturday, July 4 at Agnes Patterson Memorial Park.

Residents are encouraged to remain in or near their cars to watch the display or to keep six feet of distance between groups if watching from seating in the park.
