• Jeremy J. Wyatt, 42, of Cedar Rapids was charged with false statement and possession of drug paraphernalia at 12:58 a.m. Feb. 5 in the 600 block of East Eighth Street North. According to the Newton Police Department, officers stopped an individual on foot as a suspicious person and the male gave the name of Jason Wyatt. Newton police reviewed the driver’s license photo and the picture and height did not match. Newton police believed it was Jeremy Wyatt and upon viewing his driver’s license photo, the photo matched. Newton Police arrested Wyatt on a Jasper County warrant for failure to appear on original charges of forgery and unauthorized use of a credit card and also found numerous small plastic baggies and two small scales which Wyatt admitted to being his. Wyatt was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.
