Swedenhjelm is new NHS head football coach

Andy Swedenhjelm is Newton High School’s new head football coach. The Newton Community School District board of education approved his appointment to the position on Monday night.

Swedenhjelm has served as the Cardinal defensive coordinator since 2016. He had been an offensive line coach from 2013-2015. He was on Ed Ergenbright’s coaching staff for the Cardinals.

Swedenhjelm is the Newton High head wrestling coach. He has held that position since the 2013-14 season.
