Newton Police Department

• Kody D. Hansen, 23, of Kellogg, was charged with operating while under the influence at 2:06 a.m. Jan. 1 in the 100 block of South Second Avenue East. According to the Newton Police Department, officers were patrolling and noticed a green Chevy Silverado running in the parking lot of PB bar. Newton police had driven by a couple times throughout the night and did not notice anyone in the vehicle. When officers drove by again, they saw a hand in the window. Newton police made contact with the driver who was identified as Hansen. Upon making contact with Hansen, Newton police noticed he had vomited outside his vehicle. Officers woke Hansen and they could smell alcohol on his person. Hansen was then asked by police if he had anything to drink and he stated that he did before midnight. Officers also noticed Hansen had watery eyes. Hansen was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.
