Tommy D. Danley passed away Friday evening, Dec. 6, 2019, at UnityPoint, Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

A time of remembrance and celebration of life will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12 at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton, who is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sugar Grove (Metz) Cemetery in rural Newton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Tom’s family or to a charity of your choosing.

Tommy Dean Danley, 58, the son of William Albert and Shirley Louise (Simpson) Danley, was born June 11, 1961, in Newton. He attended Newton Senior High School, where he later graduated from.

Tom was united in marriage with Carolyn K. Zoss. He was employed by Jeld-Wen in Grinnell, where he drove a forklift. He enjoyed the Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Braves, fishing, hunting, BBQing (which he was great at), playing scrabble, Phase 10 (during those long winters) and going to rodeos with his wife, sons and grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his sons, Nicholas Dean (Rachael) Danley and Jeffrey Lee (Megan) Danley; his six grandchildren, Austin, Madison, Haylee, Hunter, Blake and Asya; his brothers, John Danley and Russ Danley; and many good neighbors and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Christopher and Jake; and brothers, Rodger Danley and Jackie Danley.
