Sunbonnet Questers

The Sunbonnet Chapter of Questers met Oct. 10 at the home of Nancy Egnozzi with 11 members and one guest. Charlotte Townsend introduced her guest Nancy Stiengraber. Nancy enjoys sewing doll clothes for her grandchildren

The program topic for the evening was “Johnnie Appleseed.” Roll call was read with members responding with their favorite apple recipe and copies were provided for each member. Minutes of the September meeting were read by Bonnie Rasmussen and approved. Program followed by Jan Turk on Tasha Tudor, who wrote many books and was Americas most beloved illustrator, using watercolor paintings. Tudor had two daughters and a son and died at the age of 93. Early in her career her books dealt with children. Later in life she wrote cookbooks and Christmas cards. Two of her most famous books were “Mother Goose” and “The Secret Garden” which sold 3 million copies.

New business — Susan Grigsby reported on the officer meeting held prior to this meeting to work on changes needed to meet International Quester guidelines. The following changes were made: 1. The plan to reinstate the March Quester meeting. And the meeting will be held at Park Center. 2. Dorthy Raymond will be called “Program Chairman.” Charlotte Townsend will be called 4-H County Fair chairman. 3. A basket will be used at each Quester meeting to collect money to be used for costs of the 4-H County Fair Quester sponsored program. All changes were voted on and approved by membership. Judy Swenson, treasurer, reported $28.31 on hand.
