PCM volleyball loses to R-S in straight sets

STORY CITY — Prairie City-Monroe's volleyball team lost a three-set match to Roland-Story during Heart of Iowa Conference play on Tuesday night.

The Norse improved to 4-2 in conference play following a 25-12, 25-10, 25-12 win over the Mustangs, who dropped to 1-5 in HOIC matches.

Senior Shelby Voeller had eight assists, seven digs and three aces to lead PCM. Junior Celeste Wagaman put down six of the Mustangs' 11 kills, sophomore Chelsea Bird and senior Chloe Inskeep both had five digs and senior Meghan Kinnamon tallied three digs.

Sophomore Claire Wilson, junior Lilli Baird and junior Emma Houser had two digs apiece.

The Mustangs (5-21) were 24-of-29 in serves. Voeller finished 5-of-5 and junior Jacki Vos was 6-of-7.

Roland-Story (24-8) had 37 kills in the win, led by Amy Rathmacher's 12.

PCM's final home match of the season is against South Hamilton at 7 p.m. on Thursday in Monroe.
