Reward offered for burglary arrest information

The Newton Police Department is searching for a man wanted in connection to several recent burglaries and thefts.

According to a press release, the police department is seeking the public’s assistance in the apprehension of Austin L. Lamb, 20. He is described as a white male approximately 6 feet tall, weighing 170 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. Lamb is also wanted on numerous outstanding warrants for probation violations and burglary.

The Jasper County Crime Stoppers is offering a $300 reward for information leading to the arrest of Lamb. Anyone with information about his whereabouts are asked to contact the NPD at 641-792-1547. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Crime Stoppers at p3tips.com.

The NPD said in the release a criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
