SIGOURNEY — Lynnville-Sully’s Hawks’ game was clicking in all phases on the volleyball court Monday night.
Opening South Iowa Cedar League play on the road, the Hawks rolled to a 25-20, 25-15, 25-18 victory over host Sigourney.
The Hawks are 1-0 in SICL action and improve to 5-3 overall.
As a team, the Hawks served .944 percent, going 84-of-89 at the service line and racked up 11 aces. They had 32 kills and 10 solo blocks at the net. The Hawks had 82 digs.
Senior setter Janelle Rozendaal was credited with 17 assists. She went 21-of-21 serving with three aces. Junior Korinne Jansen had four ace serves as she was 14-of-14 serving.
Senior Mallory Loftus and junior Krystal Van Dyke along with Jansen led the net attack for the Hawks. Loftus drilled 11 kills and put up four solo blocks. Van Dyke had six solo blocks and four kills. Jansen downed 10 kills.
Junior Denali Conover delivered four kills and had an ace serve. Conover led the team with 24 digs while Rozendaal had 14 digs and Jansen had 12 digs. Loftus and junior Cayler Noun Harder each had 11 digs.
Loftus, Van Dyke and junior Jaden Brand had an ace serve apiece. Junior Cally Gibbs had two kills and Noun Harder had one kill. Brand had six digs and Van Dyke had two digs.
Lynnville-Sully hosts North Mahaska at 7 p.m. Thursday for a conference match at Sully.
