GILBERTVILLE — Top-ranked Don Bosco improved to 2-0 on the season with a rout of Baxter at home on Sept. 6 during an 8-man non-district game.
“They are good. They smothered our offense and our defense couldn’t make the one-on-one tackle,” said Baxter assistant coach Zach Hasselbrink after the game.
Baxter head coach Rob Luther missed his first football game in 31 years after having surgery this past week.
Grant Borts led the Bolts (1-2) with 50 rushing yards and a touchdown. Rory Heer had 23 receiving yards and Cole Damman threw for 22 yards. Borts led the defense with five tackles, while Jake Travis and Cody Damman each had three tackles.
Baxter travels to Melcher-Dallas at 7 p.m. on Sept. 13.
