C-M softball drills Keota for sixth straight win

KEOTA — Colfax-Mingo’s softball team cranked out 17 hits and walked 11 times during a 26-0 win over Keota during South Iowa Cedar League play on Monday.

The Tigerhawks led 21-0 after one inning and cruised from there, winning the game in three innings.

Colbee Cunningham (11-2) threw a perfect game in the circle, striking out six of the nine batters she faced.

Colfax-Mingo (11-2 overall, 8-1 in conference play) has won six games in a row and is outscoring its opponents 66-2 during that stretch. It’s the second straight shutout for Cunningham.

Keota fell to 0-9 overall and 0-9 in SICL games.

At the plate, Braedynn Rawlins was 4-for-4 with four runs and four RBIs and Cunningham was 4-for-5 with three RBIs.

Rilee Slycord had three hits, including her sixth home run of the season, scored four runs and collected three RBIs.

Kylie Doty walked twice, had one hit, scored four runs and had two RBIs. Carley Underwood, Abigayle Rawlins and Mariah Webster all scored three runs.

Delaney Underwood was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Chelsea Russell also had two hits, Brenna Rhone scored two runs and Carley Underwood walked twice.

Colfax-Mingo hosts Grand View Christian at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in Colfax.
