Three Tigerhawks earn all-SICL volleyball honors

Lynnville-Sully went three rounds deep into the postseason and won the South Iowa Cedar League Silver Quad tournament this season.

The Hawks also climbed up the ladder in the SICL, and for their efforts, four players were recognized on the all-SICL volleyball team.

Leading the way for L-S was senior Carson Fisk, who earned first-team honors.

Senior Shiloh Cunningham was a second-team selection, while seniors Kaylee Maasdam and Makayla Rozendaal were both honorable mention picks.

Colfax-Mingo also advanced to the Silver Quad this past season. The Tigerhawks had three all-conference selections, led by senior Colbee Cunningham on the second team.

Seniors Chelsea Russell and Braedynn Rawlins earned honorable mention recognition.

Colbee Cunningham was the Tigerhawks’ most consistent player. She led C-M in kills and digs and was second in aces.

She ranked fourth in the SICL with 169 digs during conference matches and also had seven kills, 20 aces and six assists. She was 114-of-128 in serves.

Overall, Colbee Cunningham had 150 kills, 309 digs, 33 aces and 13 assists and she was 199-of-231 in serves.

Rawlins finished with 53 kills and 45 digs in conference play and 101 kills and 77 digs overall. She was 13-of-13 in serves during conference matches and 57-of-69 overall.

Russell made a position change this season. She was a second setter when the Tigerhawks used a 6-2 formation.

And she was perfect from behind the service line on the season.

During SICL play, Russell had 105 digs, 59 assists, 16 aces and six kills. She was 145-of-145 in serves.
